this is one of the craziest documentaries i have ever seen (in the sense that i was blown away by the mere existence of its subjects) and it’s back on netflix watch instantly.
Coming off the unfairly maligned and deeply polarizing Antichrist, director Lars von Trier’s Melancholia returns to the plot devices of his earlier classics—most notably the notion that women are in complete control, even in martyrdom, and men are largely craven dolts.
